Semi-Formal & Graduation

I know this is yet another post without artwork, but I wanted to share them!

 Rachel & I before Semi-Formal.

Full shot of my dress. I had so much fun wearing it, regardless of how many people accidentally stepped on my train.

My tassel needed to be fixed haha.
I DID IT!

I posted this on Facebook with this caption:
"My lovely art teacher, Mrs. Smith. I wouldn't be where I am today as an artist without her. Her honest critiquing, sharp eye, and creative solutions have helped improve my artwork. Thanks to her impact and inspiration I plan to pursue art in college with hopes of becoming an art teacher. I'm so grateful I took Mrs. Smith's Basic Drawing Class in 7th grade and that she continues to teach others to fall in love with art. High school has been a success and I'm quite ready for my next adventure."

A very heartfelt farewell to everyone there, I've learned and I've grown through the ups and downs of homeschool and high school with them all.

Summer Days Have Begun

We got to spend last Sunday afternoon at my favorite park.
This lovely 300 acre lake never bores me.

And I got a new kayak! Named 'Banana Boat' after the sunscreen brand ;)
Britney's kayak (my old one) is named 'Mauve'
and Mom's is ' The Kiwi'

Kayak Selfie!
Britney told me I looked like a girly country girl.

We parked under some low- hanging tree branches.

And then we got out to take in the view.

Britney got a selfie stick and we played with it before I went to work one day.

My Senior Semi-Formal portrait!

I'm so glad Summer Adventures have started.

Sketches

Slowly regaining my excitement for art.

My horrid and rushed attempt at John Smith.

First successful decent face in a while!

Sleepy couple sitting on a park bench.
I didn't even give them clothes haha.

Mermaid with her seahorse friend.
Mermaid and Sailor
My Instagram post yesterday :)
My reminder to be kind to everyone while I'm at work, and to never let my light fade.

I was suddenly inspired for this. *shrugs shoulders*

And my very first commission piece for a dear friend.

I'm getting it back people!

Finishing the Race

I have been completely dragging with art the past few weeks, barely finishing assignments- if at all.
I'm definitely finishing the race of high school with nothing left.
My oil painting class has finally been given freedom for the last three weeks to paint what ever we want.
I'm so glad because I've felt so held back in this class from what I know I can do.

Mountain Pass

Morning Waves,
My teacher came up to me and asked if I paint anything besides the color blue.
I really don't think I do...haha.

Final assignment for drawing class.
There was two assignments I couldn't get to with how busy my life as gotten, but I'm happy for her to see this as my final piece.

Oh how I can't wait for school to be over.
I haven't drawn for fun in so long.
I miss my brushes and watercolor paints.

Have a good week!

Delaware Wanderings

It started out rainy and miserable,
But God let the rain cease and the sun broke through,
Britney and I stumbled across a Delaware state park and spent some precious moments by the lake and in the woods.
Stairs formed by nature's arms.
Something about water is so soothing.
Moss appreciation.

Nature's carpet.
WE MADE IT
My single goal for this year.
I could listen to the ocean all day.
I look at this tiny, tiny shell, and wonder how people could say there is no God.
Things like this don't happen on accident.
It was terribly, terribly, hard to wave goodbye.

Oh, there's something about the feeling you get
when your soul feels full to the brim.

This is my happy place.

Homework assignments

I haven't updated in a while, so here's two weeks of art homework!

Well...okay, the puppy I just did for fun.

Copying Calvin and Hobbs style assignment- so fun and relaxing.
I was shaken up after my interview for work, I sketched this once I got home and thoroughly enjoyed inking the thick lines...perfect way to bring myself back to normal.
(And still can't believe I have a job now!)

It doesn't show well in the picture, but I drew her on tan paper, and it had such a simplistic beauty to it, without color.

She's now fully colored and ready to be handed in!

I was given multiple portraits to draw, including a self portrait, but I decided it's quality, not quantity.
I'll do my portrait next week, so it's not rushed!

Sing

I'm suddenly sketching cute little birdies.

A young gnome and his sparrow.

(Oh her eyelashes are horrible...I didn't notice that until now. I should redo them haha)

Modern Princess.
No refrence for this except for a picture of a girl looking down, and my hand.
