22-31 of 365

Doodles during church:
(Don't worry, I was listening. But ever since I was young, mom would read to Britney and I and she would give us coloring pages to keep our hands busy while we listened to her reading, I can multitask!)

First day of 2nd semester, same doodle, different versions.
Doodled a student on his laptop
First art project. My teacher was very, very impressed. He came and talked to me and complimented me, no one else in the room. I felt awkward, but it really made my day!
He's the head of the art department at this college too!
Was sitting in the cafeteria and didn't feel comfortable enough to sketch someone, afraid they'd catch me looking at them, so I doodled from imagination.

More church doodles!
2nd art project was to draw a cylinder, cone, and sphere. I've done basic shapes too often in beginners classes, and wanted to make this one different!
My teacher appreciated the scale (18 in x 24 in) and theme and detail! He called the sprinkles ridiculous haha.
Just a doodle from class today

Well it's the end of January and I haven't missed a day of art yet!!
I've made 31 little pieces, whether they're impressive or not, the point of this challenge was to kick me into making art again, I'm honestly surprised (and glad) it's working :)

11-21 of 365

I waited until 11pm to do this, yet it's the most "liked" out of this challenge on Instagram so far haha...maybe I should do late & sloppy sketches more often.

When in doubt, illustrate puns.

My manager loves unicorns, I left one just like this in her work mailbox.

I got really lost the other day coming home from visiting dear friends in Pennsylvania, used that experience to inspire my piece for the day.
Getting lost in the dark..while it's raining is no fun.
I didn't mind getting lost on my way there, it was daylight and I saw beautiful sights that made me gasp as I drove past <3

I was sketching a mermaid at work and didn't think it was good enough to post for the day, so I tried a cleaner sketch and well...the messy one was better haha

A Mountain's dream to touch the stars.

Someone left a target receipt on the floor at work. With no other inspiration, I decided to copy the dog..sort of anyway.

Took a selfie of my profile and attempted to stylize it....it was actually originally going to be a girl bashfully looking up and a guy nervously giving her a flower but...well, sometimes plans change :)

365 challenge!

I apologize for my inactivity!
2016 has been an endless whirlpool of new experiences and I'm so glad it's come to an end, and things that were new, are now normal. I looked in my sketchbook in the last few days of 2016 and I noticed a complete lull in my sketches since March, when I got my job. And even less in August when college started.
I find myself in Winter Break, feeling freedom from school and a burst of creativity.
I'm hoping against all odds, I will find 5 to 20 minutes to an hour everyday that I can make a simple sketch or drawing or watercolor for myself for fun, not an assignment, but to keep my creativity alive. Here goes nothing!
