Lazy Fun

I've still been going crazy creating things....most of these I didn't take much time on, seriously, 10 minutes, tops for each of these haha. But they're still relaxing and fun, non the less!
Girl with Stripes
Father Tomas
I imagined a king in deep thought thinking "I must find that girl." and it turned into some...bearded elf man.
The one on the right I thought about being stuck in college but having an art idea, and going through the class room stepping over people and tables....hopefully that won't happen. How embarrassing!

Sweet Safari girl
Then I got a little excited about giraffes and came up with an odd concept.
This one cracks me up. :P

,
Frank Walker's Jet Pack,
Sketched while watching Tomorrow Land for the second time.
A retired knight and his young daughter.
Getting a little excited for Medieval Times...(:
Sketched last night while the rest of my family finished eating Chick-Fil-a.
Didn't make enough room for the front of the truck :(
Sketched in the tub.....haha.
Seriously, it is so heavenly to take baths! And has health benefits!
I've enjoyed them so much that dad cut a board for me that rests on the sides of the tub where I can lay my book and sketchbook supplies.
Hanging on my closet door.
I found some cheap watercolors I bought years ago and feel comfortable just to mess around with them on index cards.
These remind me of little kid drawings, showing no skill whatsoever.
Buuuut, that's okay sometimes.

Push Through!

God's Creation

This is a different kind of art to be posting here, but it was created by my favorite Artist.
Blizzard 2016.
Breakfast for the wildlife.

My faithful companion.

Our storage barn and chicken coop, knee deep in snow!

The way was shut, but men came out of their houses and went crazy with snowblowers.

Home.

Narnia in our front yard.

The weirdo eating snow.

Lovebirds.

But then he left her.
And came back again.

Fluffed up on our roof.

Bluejay eating breakfast.

"What?"

"Forth, and fear no darkness! Arise! Arise, Riders of Theoden! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword day... a red day... ere the sun rises!"

Snow Day Creations

Snow magically piled up overnight and comes up to my hips!

4th Dreamlands painting, hugely inspired by all the snow out my window. All I could think about was imaginary ice castles!

5th Dreamlands painting. Blushing polar bear. Made with  a mixture of Inktense pencils, watercolor and ink.

6th Dreamlands painting.  Little Worlds.

This is basically an emotion painting, out of frustration haha.
I was feeling really down on how I just don't seem to be improving with my art.
So I was creating a sloppy forest painting to feel better, but while the background dried I saw the shape of a Rhino, and decided to follow it.
In the meantime a bottle of paint fell and dripped down my nightstand and onto my feet,
then I cut my finger while painting, ( I won't say how because it's too embarrassing.), but in the end, I still made it!

I think "Push Through" should be my motto or something.

Sketches and doodles

I've been sketching like crazy since I'm on break and have run straight into an art block. Owww.
I'm pushing through it though!

For some reason I wanted to sketch a woman who tripped over a log during a nature tour and the hot nature park ranger comes to help her up. She's obviously flushed and embarrassed.

She kinda turned into some sort of Roman lady.

I finalllllly watched Pride and Prejudice for the first time ever. I loooved it!
I'm now listening to the audiobook whenever I paint!

"You have bewitched me, body and soul."

Attempting colored pencils again.
^Prismacolor

A week before with colored pencils.
^Crayola

2nd Dreamlands painting. I added another layer and the ship is darker now...should've uploaded the updated photo haha.

3rd Dreamlands painting. Cliff's edge, somewhere in the middle of mountains and hills.

A quick watercolor while making supper last night.

My oil painting homework is finally complete.
Assignment was to use 3 of 5 shapes we had practiced and the primary colors.
It was right before break that I sketched this on the canvas and was obviously into the Christmas mood!
You might make me paint the primary colors, but I can still make it Christmas-y!

The snow is piling up outside my window and I'm thrilled!
And I'm wearing my evenstar necklace in honor of starting Lord of the Rings tonight.
Have a great weekend!
